Lyrics by He Peixuan

Composer: Fang Shi
Sung by Jiang Tao

I wrote an application to join the Party at the age of 18,
But was too shy to submit it to the Party Branch.
I read the Party Constitution through and through,
And felt I was quite a distance away from meeting its requirement.

My father has been a party member for long; his attachment to the Party is pure.
He showed me his application for party membership written in the old days,
And told me in earnest that attachment to the Party must be profound.
Countless pioneers shed their blood and were beheaded for the enterprise of the Party,
Disregarding fame and fortune.

What are party members?
They are good civil servants for the People.
What are party members?
They are the backbone of the people.
They are flags that billow;
They are trees that stand upright;
They are red candles who burn themselves to offer others light.

I have been working for years and addressed as “Comrade.”
I feel the Party’s loving care and inspiration at all times.
(It’s beyond measure) How many Kong Fansens and Jiao Yulus are out there
Selflessly and dauntlessly devoting themselves entirely to public duties that dead bones of the loyal were buried all over green hills.

I wrote an application to join the Party at the age of 18,
And am going to submit it to the Party branch today.
I will quicken my steps to get closer to the Party,
And be a qualified party member to better serve the people.

Please, the Party, put me to the test! Please, the Party, put me to the test!
Please, the party, put me to the test! Please, the Party, put me to the test!

Please, the Party, put me to the test using money and beauty!

逆风行:

To those who threw up: what do you have faith in? “You live by your faith,” if you have any faith, please respect the faith of others. What is about wantonly trampling on and vilifying others’ faith? If you don’t have any faith, please do not come here until you have found yours. “Prove you are right if you accuse others of being wrong.”

烏鴉先生:

Throwing bricks on 5 mao. (Jing’s note: literally 50 cents, alluding to Internet commentators hired by Chinese Propaganda Department to post pro-Communist comments and skew the public opinion. In 2004, a news article said they get 50 Chinese cents per post, hence the epithet.)Do you dare to say this singing guy really has faith in that????How do you know he focuses his faith on that???Shabi. (Nitwits)
