CCTV rigs newscast again, this time in earthquake coverage

On January 27, Ministry of Tofu broke the story about CCTV passing off scenes from Top Gun in its fight jet news. Today, eagle-eyed Chinese net users called our attention to its conniving newscast.

Yes, they botched it again.

Both two separate news reports, one on the magnitude 5.8 earthquake in China’s southwestern Yunnan Province and the other on the magnitude 9.0 earthquake in Japan, provided an aerial shot of the two quake zones. However, juxtaposition of the two shots shows that they are identical. Since when do a town in China and a city in Japan look the same?

Ministry of Tofu has found the two newscast video clips in question. At 1’17’’ of the first one on Yunnan quake, and at 3’20’’ of the second one on Japan quake, the aerial shot that both reports used can be seen.

王小星 ;´Д` ハァ:I noticed this on TV…

张恒:The pic has been PSed (photoshopped). Donn’t know if netizens did u or CCTV did it.

汪复苏:They have seen this with their eyes on TV, and you said it’s PSed? Do you mean CCTV people PSed it?

All you have to do is notice the traffic. In Japan they drive on the left side of the road.
