This is a statue of Guan Yu, an ancient general during China’s Three Kingdoms era (died A.D. 220). He was later deified and worshiped by many Chinese people today, especially in southern China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and their descendants overseas. The statue was made from a Chinese-made Jiefang military truck motor by students at China Central Academy of Fine Arts.
